RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - The Lord Kelvin - 07-08-2018 Ruru walks over to the minstrel. "Hey do you know if any shops here sell banana splits? Also have you heard about any amazing peaches that're sold here? RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Kaede - 07-08-2018 Ooc: testing Seems to work again. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Corenat Rovarnus - 07-08-2018 (07-07-2018, 09:58 PM)Corenat Rovarnus Wrote: "We've got time to spare, let's keep going." Ronaldo continues along the road. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-08-2018 The minstrel stops his playing and stares at you two. "Haven't I seen you somewhere before missy? If I didn't I can't seem to recall." He points to a shabby looking building. "If you're looking for peaches or banana split's the tavern has em, careful when you order the banana split though." (riders of rohan) You continue riding down the road and get to a split in the road that is unmarked on the map. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - The Lord Kelvin - 07-08-2018 Ruru gives the minstrel a smile before heading back to Brue. "Thanks, mister!" Ruru grabs Brue's hand and starts dragging him towards the tavern. "Lets go get those splits!" RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Corenat Rovarnus - 07-08-2018 "Consarn it! Looks like our mapmaker was a bad artist AND incompetent." Ronaldo grabs a stick or a suitable substitute and marks the left path 1 and the right path 2. He will be taking path number... [roll=d2] "Alright folks, let's go this way." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - SilkScarf - 07-08-2018 Brue sits there, wide-eyed at the hurricane of activity Ruru is going through. "Thanks, Ruru. Actually, I came here to find my sister. She ran away from home, and I really miss her. How about you? What's your story?" RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - The Lord Kelvin - 07-08-2018 Ruru stops her activity. "Haaaay, back to the world of the living! I'm an orphan. There's nothing to really say." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - dinasemrys - 07-08-2018 Pepe - Where we going? RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Kaede - 07-09-2018 Noire simply follows along, keeping an eye open for the bandits they saw or the dangerous ones they mentioned. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-09-2018 (riders) You continue along the road assuming that you are on the correct path, but after an hour or so you can definitively say that you chose the wrong way. You seem to be running around in an area of the map that shouldn't have any roads. The sun overhead beats down upon your brow as you sit down to eat some provisions. After regaining some strength you turn back, but amazingly, the road splits again. "I think we came from the right side," says Paul, "but I'm not exactly sure. Anybody else keep track?" (townie kids) Brue and Ruru walks into the tavern which is fairly empty since its only midday. Plastered on the front counter are multiple wanted posters, there are marks of a few being ripped out recently. They see a person who is more muscle than man standing at the front counter, and when they get close enough to resonably speak with him, they are forced to crane their neck at an uncomfortable angle due to the height difference. "So you want peaches and a banana split eh," says the man, "peaches are 2 Roos a pound, and a banana split is 5 Roos." (pepe) "Where we going?" asks Pepe in a daze. "Ta da whorehouse mah man," says Bob, jingling his purse. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Corenat Rovarnus - 07-09-2018 Ronaldo checks for the marks he made on the roads before. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-09-2018 The packed earth road isn't a malleable medium, but Ronaldo is able to discern the faint marking of his horse's hooves on the right side. The party continues on back, but before long you see a colorfully dressed rider coming your way. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - SilkScarf - 07-09-2018 "I'd like a banana split please," Brue says. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-09-2018 The muscular man grunts. "Would you like it kid style, or MAN style?" RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - SilkScarf - 07-09-2018 Brue opens his mouth in a shocked expression. They never had so many customization options in Fukyutu! "Wow, what's the difference?" RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - The Lord Kelvin - 07-09-2018 Ruru smiles at the exchange. "I'll have whatever he's having and 2 pounds of peaches to go, please" RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-09-2018 "Well, the kid style is what you get if you ordered elsewhere, while the MAN style provides a more poignant experience," says the big man, "it's our specialty here." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - SilkScarf - 07-09-2018 Brue glances side to side nervously. Was he a man yet? Was he ready for this experience? Who could tell. He thought back on the rare nights of leisure back in his impoverished hometown. This 'poignant experience' sounded like some kind of alcoholic drink. Or was it the 'manly' thing that the farmhands did when they went home to see their families? "I'll...I'll...I'll...," Brue said, his voice wavering before finally steadying into an uncomfortably loud volume. "I'll take the MAN STYLE!" he said, fists clenched in the air with conviction. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - The Lord Kelvin - 07-09-2018 Ruru watches as Brue struggles to muster his determination and gives him a big thumbs up when he manages to do so. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - dinasemrys - 07-09-2018 What's in warehouse? RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-09-2018 [roll=1d6] [roll=1d6] "I see you're ready to differentiate yourself from children eh? A brave choice," says the big man. He takes out two tubs of ice cream from a nearby ice crate and opens the lids, revealing a tub of vanilla and a tub of chocolate. He then takes out two wooden boards, and puts upon them two peeled bananas each stacked vertically. "Alright, just try to stand still while I serve you." The big man then deftly places the plates of banana atop your heads, instantly achieving balance. Just as you are a little confused as to what is happening, out from under the counter the big man retrieves TWO BATTLEAXES. OH SHIT! Before you can even react, he performs a audacious TWIN BISECTING CHOP towards the banana plates resting on your heads, you can practically hear the sharpness of the axes as they whistle through the air. The axes easily cut through the bananas and eats into the wood. At that moment, everything seems nigh, your brief life flashes before your eyes. But the expected death does not come, the axe is stopped only millimeters away from your skull. Afterwards is a flurry of ice cream, sprinkles and cherries, all scooped with the very axes that almost took your lives. In a matter of seconds two banana splits are created, their forms practically the ideal of what a banana split should be. You feel an abnormal movement in your bowels, but you manage to hold it in. The big man stops to admire his handiwork and Brue's knocking knees. "Its quite the experience, eh? A real man is someone who stands tall in the face of death, it seems that you're still a bit lacking in that regard," he says to Brue. "Even the lass over here is faring better than you." Ruru's face is a ghastly pale white, but she remains standing firmly. Ruru and Brue quickly finish their MANLY splits, and they head out, Ruru with a bag of peaches in hand. (pepe) "Oh man, come on, stop pretending that you don't know," says Bob with a wink. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - dinasemrys - 07-09-2018 Could it be??? Super tendies? :O RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-09-2018 "Even better than tendies," says Bob. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - The Lord Kelvin - 07-09-2018 Her hands shaking, Ruru slowly moves a right hand to the banana split, smearing a little of the delicacy onto her index finnger. Just as slowly and shakily, she brings it to her mouth and licks it off. "I-i-i-it's... goo-oooooo-oood." Ruru faints. As they leave the tavern, Ruru clutches the bag of peaches with both hands tightly enough that the skin around her knuckles appear white. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Kaede - 07-09-2018 "Should we hide or...?" None the less she moves her hand near her sword in case things go south. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Corenat Rovarnus - 07-10-2018 OOC: Funny you should put it that way, as we've been literally traveling southward up until now. "Sometimes I don't get you, Miss Noire. You were just fine starin' down six men, but now you wanna run 'n hide from one?" Ronaldo shakes his head. "Chances are he's already seen us, so going to hide now would just make us look more suspicious. Let's spin up a cover story in case it's a lawman." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Kaede - 07-10-2018 "If it comes to fighting straight on or an ambush I'd pick the latter. As for cover story, I can say your all bodyguards for O'Brien & Sons and I'm looking for the shortest routes for our convoy to take next year if you want?" RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Corenat Rovarnus - 07-11-2018 "Yeah, that's better than what I was thinkin' of." If possible, the posse will pass the rider without incident. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - SilkScarf - 07-11-2018 "That was the most intense banana split I've ever had in my life. It really makes you rethink some things." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - dinasemrys - 07-17-2018 Pepe follows Bob hoping there will be magical super tendies. What else could be better than tendies? RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - SilkScarf - 07-17-2018 "Say, Ruru, you wouldn't happen to have some free time, would you? I've been looking for my sister all this time, and I think I'm going to ask around town to see if anyone's seen her. Would you care to come along? RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - The Lord Kelvin - 07-17-2018 Ruru just follows Brue "...sure..." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-17-2018 (raidas) You finish coming up with a cover story to which Paul also agrees to. The colorful fellow comes a bit closer and you can see that he is dressed like someone from a medieval reenactment club, more specifically like that of a noble cavalier, complete with a flagged lance balanced across his leg. You wonder if any souls unfortunate enough to cross paths with the fellow have ever been eviscerated by a passing spearhead. The fellow approaches you. "Good day my good sirs and madam, I am Sir Diripledepgiblepidleshoknuruku(dî rî plĕ dĕp gĭb lĕ pĭd lĕ shō nû rû kû) of Jibilibi, knight errant! I've become unfortunately lost on my way back to my estate, do you know the way to Jibilibi?" As a trader versed in the customs of many lands, Noire is able to understand that this fellow is proclaiming to be the immediate descendant of a duke by the number of syllables in his name, according to Hill custom. Unfortunately it is a great offense to shorten someone's name in this culture, and an even greater offense to mispronounce the name of someone with equal or lower station. (kids) Ruru and Brue wander around blankly, still stunned by their experience with that banana split. They asked around for Brue's sister, but nobody seems to know her around here. Suddenly they are approached by a shifty cloaked fellow, who also conveniently has a practically impenetrable shadow cast over his face by the angle of the sun and his hood. "Psst, I heard you guys are from the Handsome Host," he says in a squeaky voice. (Pepe) You walk into the brothel with Bob and are greeted by the madame. "Ohohohoho, if it isn't two strapping sirs, how may I serve you today?" "Just give me the usual," says Bob with a wink. "Of course, of course, and how about you sir?" asks the madame, turning to Pepe. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - dinasemrys - 07-17-2018 Pepe - Gib me ur finest tendies. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Corenat Rovarnus - 07-18-2018 And they call me queer, Ronaldo thinks to himself. "I'm afraid not, we're just passing through." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Kaede - 07-18-2018 She puts on a thick accent of her country as she speaks(ooc: think Scottish). She bows her head to the respect to the man in front of her. "Weel mit mah lord, unfortunately ah dunnae kinn hoo tae gie tah Jibilibi.Me an' mah bodyguards ur tryin' tae fin' a roote fur trade fur next year, sae we dornt ken th' lain huir uv a weel. " RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-18-2018 (raida) "Well, it certainly seems so. Judging by your accents you don't seem to be around here. Well, since you seem to know where you are going, may you perchance have a map on your body that I can borrow for a moment?" The madame lets out a really fake sounding laugh, her multiple chins quivering in unison. "Ohohoho, I see we have someone with some very special tastes. A full night's service will be 2 Rues." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - The Lord Kelvin - 07-18-2018 Ruru gives Brue a look as if to ask him what he wants to do. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - SilkScarf - 07-18-2018 "Say Ruru, I bet an orphan like you has seen the seedier parts of life, right? I'm now the man of my house, so I've got to know a man's pleasures. Let's go find a brothel." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Corenat Rovarnus - 07-18-2018 "Our map is kind of...hard to read. It's not very accurate either." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - The Lord Kelvin - 07-18-2018 "You can go by yourself, Brue." Ruru shoos Brue away with disgust and turns to the shifty character that Brue doesn't seem to be able to see or hear. "What'chu want." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - SilkScarf - 07-18-2018 Brue asks around for the brothel. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-18-2018 "That's fine, if it is even in the remotest sense usable, it can help me refresh my memory." Seeing as one of the kids ignores him, the shifty character shifts a little so that the shadow over his face is even more impenetrable to Ruru's eyes. "I uh, wanna join... yeah that's right, yeah, I uh, hope you're accepting new members." Brue asks around for where the brothel is but nobody answers his question. "Kids your age shouldn't be thinking about such things, but rather how to get better at dice," says one kind looking old lady. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - The Lord Kelvin - 07-18-2018 Ruru shrugs. "I see. I never said we were with the handsome hosts, though. Looks like you're scared of showing your face. I know some good makeup people. Wanna give it a try? I'll get you a good deal." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - SilkScarf - 07-18-2018 "Oh wow, I think you're right." Brue smiles at the kindly old lady. "Would you have any tricks to teach me, ma'am?" RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Corenat Rovarnus - 07-18-2018 Ronaldo checks their map for anything that could be traced back to the Handsome Host before showing it. "Well, don't say I didn't warn ya." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-19-2018 (ronny) The words on the map are copied in SOMEONE'S handwriting, you aren't sure who. Everyone in the handsome host seems to write in chicken scratch, if they can write at all. Judging by the fact that you can't even identify who made the copy, probably Mr. Di-whatever here can't either. You hand the map to him. "Wow uh, well then," he says, putting the map on its side and back again, "this map seems to be missing many of the minor roads, but I can roughly guess where we are. It looks like I went the wrong way, and I should head back. Mind if I join you my good friends?" (ruru) "Kekekeke, I know you're from the handsome host because of this," the man pulls out a torn off wanted poster with Ruru's face artistically rendered on it from Rue knows where. The shadow over his face flickers ominously as the man laughs, but not enough to reveal his visage. "I don't know why all your wanted posters were removed, but I managed to tear a few off." (Brue) "Eh, well there's no better tip than experience," says the old lady, "why don't we go for a round and you'll see what I mean." She pulls out a pair of dice from her purse. RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - The Lord Kelvin - 07-19-2018 Ruru frowns. "Ugh, fine. I just wanted to enjoy my day off, but I guess this is life." Ruru gestures towards without pointing at the man/woman/pedophile/whatever. "Alright then, let's do business. Since you're applying, I'm going to need to know more about you. If you've got what it takes. So start off and tell me about yourself." RE: Highwaymen RPG Opening Act: My Way or the Highway (part 2) - Xenoe - 07-19-2018 The man is a little startled that you accepted so quickly. "Oh, uh... let me find it," once again he reaches somewhere, and pulls out a stack of papers. "Ahem, so my greatest weakness is my hard working attitude, and I'm a inspired individual who seeks self realization through my work. My hobbies are working hard, and working harder, and I really like eating raw chicken." |
