Tsukihime remake - Kaede - 12-31-2020

http://www.typemoon.com/products/tsukihime/

It's been what, a decade sense this was announced? Well it comes out next year for ps4 & Switch. Do not fear though, the team who's doing the Mahoyo translation, which is apparently nearing finalization, said they will translate & port it to pc.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Xenoe - 12-31-2020

Nasu: soon

RE: Tsukihime remake - Corenat Rovarnus - 12-31-2020

lol it's been so long that when I saw "Mahoyo" I thought you had just misspelled Mihoyo

RE: Tsukihime remake - Kaede - 01-01-2021

I'm just waiting for best girl Satsuki's route finally being a thing. Though I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of the changes that have been made like moving the story to modern day, though that does make Aoko & Touko in their 50's & 60's so if you like older woman you'll be happy, and taking place in Tokyo instead of a fictional town.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Corenat Rovarnus - 01-02-2021

Wut, they changed everyone's birthdates except the Aozaki sisters?

RE: Tsukihime remake - Kaede - 01-02-2021

Unless they retcon that as well yeah, Mahoyo takes place in the late 80's, Touko is in her 20's while Aoko is 17.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Corenat Rovarnus - 01-03-2021

I mean I'd expect them to do that for everyone but it seems they really did write themselves into a hole in this case. I think Aoko looked practically the same in the brief glimpse of a CG in the trailer so probably gonna be some youth preservation magic involved.
I don't think she shows up more than once in the story proper so they might be able to get away with it.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Kaede - 01-03-2021

Might not be so hard, fifth magic is time travel so that could explain Aoko, and Touko is a/has puppet boddies so that explains her. Though if they really cared, Aoko & Touko wouldn't be in the year 2030 in Extra.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Kaede - 03-25-2021

More info on the remake:

Releases later this year on august 26th

Only contains the Near side routes ,Arc & Ciel, and far side will be discussed later.

Both part one will be fully voiced & will take about 45 hours to complete.

There will be a new list of Dead Apostle Ancestors because compared to the stuff in Fate they are weak.

The Tsukihime remake is apparently the same world as F/GO.

Descriptions for the two routes:
Moon Princess (Arc route): The high schooler Tohno Shiki has been living with distant relatives for 7 years after an accident. Now that his father is dead, he is called back to his prestigious home. A new life starts for him in a giant mansion, but something feels vaguely unsettling. One day, a woman passes by him while his consciousness is dim. The encounter with this woman, named Arcueid, slowly got Shiki involved in a transcendental battle between inhuman beings— vampires.

Rainbow in the Night (Ciel Route): After luckily sitting next to her on the train, Shiki quickly grew to Ciel, a popular upperclassman from his school. The lively days interacting with her, his best friend Arihiko, and their new teacher Noel felt like dream... however, they didn't last too long. Sudden murderous urges. The tragedy caused by Shiki himself drags him into the abyss of despair. What managed to reach out to him was one umbrella and soft words- He was saved by none other than Ciel.

Also more importantly, New Melty Blood for a world wide release later this year. Supposedly it's a 'what if' prequel to the remake so no Sion or Tatari. No PC release, only consoles.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Corenat Rovarnus - 03-25-2021

A most auspicious release date, but it's only the Near Side routes? Seems like they're taking a page out of Square Enix's book.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Kaede - 03-26-2021

Supposedly it's because if they released all at once it would be too much work for the team and would be delayed further. Another reason could be because originally only the near side routes were released at first and the far side was released as a complete edition. I personally think they just wanna bilk money from fans.

I'm kinda miffed that they feel the need to uplift the characters of Tsukihime to make them on par with Fate characters, because let's be honest they're only doing this so they can add them to F/GO and people can't complain that they buffed them too much compared to KnK characters.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Corenat Rovarnus - 03-26-2021

Nah, they don't need an excuse to add characters to FGO. KnK hadn't had anything new for several years when they put Ryougi Shiki in, and now Asagami Fujino as well.

I don't think the Dead Apostle Ancestors are weak compared to stuff in Fate. In the El-Melloi Case Files they got stuck in the Forest of Einnashe or something and that was still very threatening.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Xenoe - 03-29-2021

The power levels in nasuverse are pretty nebulous, I don't see why the need to power the dead apostles up since you got people in the Fate side of things whose powers consist of swinging really fast etc.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Kaede - 03-30-2021

I'd say it's the stuff added in Grand Order & Extra that they gotta buff things for, cuz if you really think about it the most powerful member of the DAA is Type Mercury, and from what I've seen it's going to be in FGO later & Type Moon, who is currently dead. The DAA we know about is a drunk mermaid, a time-stopped knight with a demon sword, Elizabeth Bathory as a vampire so she's probably going to be changed to some degree, a group of six people that are sleeping, a pedo pirate, Merem Solomon, and a few others.

Also I have purchased the limited Edition of Tsukihime remake. That fucker cost $100, and the regular edition isn't much better at $80.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Corenat Rovarnus - 03-31-2021

yeesh, pre-ordering games. At least you're not this guy who bought two copies of Spring Song for some reason: https://www.reddit.com/r/fatestaynight/comments/mgz8xm/i_just_bought_it_lol/

RE: Tsukihime remake - Kaede - 04-05-2021

Would have bought it off of amazon jp, but the bonus for it is just some phone wallpapers so it's not worth it. Plus I've never bought anything from amazon jp until today so I don't know how their shipping is.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Kaede - 08-26-2021

Welp Tsukihime remake part 1 is available, and the next part is announced at the end of it, Tsukihime: Other Side of the Red Garden. It will have the fabled Satsuki Route. Also Preorders are up in most places for the next Melty Blood, nothing for steam atm though.

I'll be getting my copy of Tsukihime next, should I post some pictures when I get it? Also apparently you can emulate the switch version perfectly.

RE: Tsukihime remake - Corenat Rovarnus - 08-28-2021

Wow Satsuki route, 4srs?
And yes, please post stuff, I'm really curious as to what they've changed from the original story.

Oh which emulator are they using for that? That's good news.

From what I've heard not much has changed until near halfway into the two routes, then it gets radically different. I'd post the trailer for the next part, but apparently TM is DMCAing anything related to spoilers for the next two weeks. I'm hoping to use my few years of JP language learning (thats at least a decade out of use) and google lens to help me get through the VN, though I may pick up a book to refresh my Japanese.

Which emulator I'm not sure. I've heard Yuzu works, for those who need a LT though though there is no english translation atm, Hollow Moon plans to translate & port it after they finish mahoyo which is getting close from what I can tell.
