Not really, materials for it are common and can be found in fields everywhere and you can even make it even if you don't know how to read (an actual thing in the game) there is a drawback to even taking the saviors schnapps, it's alcohol and can get you drunk which can lead to all the wonderful things that come with it, like blacking out and waking up somewhere else, hangover and all. Though i did forget to mention there are auto saves at the start and end of quests, and if you sleep in a bed you own.

There is a QOL patch coming in a few weeks which improves lockpicking, pick pocketing, and might add a save and quit function.
