Gwain blinks in disbelief, not quite sure what to make of this revelation. He has little reason to trust the outlandish claim the girl before him has just made, and yet it seems almost too ridiculous to have been made up. Magic? From a simple peasant girl? Could such a thing really be? If it were true, it would explain why Gisgo keeps her around. Is this how the Liches have attained such mastery over the beasts of the blasted lands?
