Corenat RovarnusCaptain Marvel, the moveh

According to @"vroop" there are apparently a bunch of people called Captain Marvel running around all the comic book universes, so to clarify, this is the one that is not "not Shazam", if that makes sense. She's the blonde chick that flies around? Uh, that's not Supergirl? Crap, I'm having trouble trying to distinguish myself. Let's just look at the trailer:

I wasn't originally interested in this movie because I just wanna see Infinity War 2 already. But it's a prequel that takes place in the olden days of....the 90s?, with young Nick Fury and Phil Coulson which I think will be fun. Of course if they really want to launch the nostalgia train they gotta bring back Agent Carter for one last mission....

Yeah, seriously.

However I did misspeak earlier: Kamala Khan who appeared in Totally Awesome Hulk was actually a *Ms.* Marvel, not a Captain Marvel.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's sad that they have to rely on nostalgia for the 90s to get people interested in the movie. This will likely be a HARD pass for because the character is rather boring imo.

Was it really relying on 90s nostalgia? I counted Blockbuster, young Coulson and Fury which was only a few seconds out of the trailer.

Wasn't shown much in this trailer, but there are alot of people who are nostalgic for the 90's right now and merchandise is fulfilling that niche right now, biggest one I can think of atm is Nickelodeon doing a large push with some of their old franchises at local stores with new Rugrats, Hey Arnold, and Ren & Stimpy products being slowly introduced with newer items. I don't see Disney passing up the opportunity to do this as well with some of their older things and with the money they have I fully expect to see more than just Blockbuster in the movie, possibly with car manufacturers and holders of dead brands getting in on the film to make some cash off the name alone.

I came for the 90s nostalgia, and... it delivered. Coulson didn't get too much screentime but it was where it counted. No Carter though Sad
Can't say much for the plot outside of the references.

I can't recommend this, not even as a prerequisite for Endgame. Maybe check out that anime Captain Marvel instead:
