Decided I'd take a long hard look at my enjoyment of this accursed genre, across both anime and mango. This only includes stuff I've actually seen, if you want a series here either post it yourself or request I watch it. 

Trash Tier:
How to not Summon a Demon Lord - This physically hurt to watch.

Meh Tier:

Would the .hack series count as isekai? Deals with adventuring in a new world.

Also isekai quartet is funny.

I would say it's kind of a precursor like Digimon and Inuyasha where the premise is technically similar, but it lacks many of the conventions established in the modern genre - getting hit by truck-kun, acquiring a subservient harem, the MC having "cheat" abilities and always winning.

I've got Isekai Quartet acquired and ready to watch, but I feel obligated to finish Re:Zero first as I've already watched the other 3 involved, and Re:Zero seems actually good.
