Rolling 1d9: 1
10-20-2018, 03:19 PM
While unreasonably stylish and a designer brand, Jose's hair gel is alcohol free and thus non-flammable.
10-22-2018, 07:09 PM
Jamar goes and hides in a corner.
10-23-2018, 01:12 AM
Tomoe simply takes aim at the doorway, ready to shoot the monsters in the chest.
10-23-2018, 11:07 AM
"Jason" stacks some barrels in the doorway as breastwork.
10-24-2018, 10:34 AM
Under the guise of Jason, Cory blocks off the doorway so nobody can leave the room, which has no other exits.
The shuffling footsteps intensify, and whoever looks through the doorway sees more of the monsters wander into view. Tomoe opens fire. Rolling 1d2: 2
10-24-2018, 10:45 AM
BANG BANG!
With Tomoe's training it is nearly impossible to miss at this range, and one of the monsters is dropped in two shots. click Those happened to be the last two shots in the magazine. The remaining creatures turn and approach the doorway, trying to knock away the makeshift barrier and undo Cory's hard work.
10-24-2018, 12:09 PM
Cory chops at the creature's head from over the barrier.
10-24-2018, 07:58 PM
Tomoe ejects the magazine and starts loading it with new rounds from her pack.
10-24-2018, 09:02 PM
Jose puts on his newly-polished breastplate.
10-25-2018, 12:31 PM
While Tomoe reloads and Jose dons his old but no longer so moldy breastplate, Cory attempts to fend off the creature attacking the barrier with his second axe making sure not to get it stuck this time.
Rolling 1d5: 4
10-25-2018, 12:40 PM
Cory inflicts a deep cut on the monster, causing it to fall over unmoving. The rest push it aside to continue their assault.
Tomoe and Jose are not quite done with their actions yet, but Samad has his sword drawn. "Er, shall I help you, Jay's son?"
"Yeah, thanks Shay-mad, are you really good with that sword?", Cory looks to see if there is a weapon with longer reach around.
10-25-2018, 12:51 PM
Samad shakes his head. "I have only a rudimentary understanding." Cory sees that nobody took any of the spears.
10-25-2018, 11:39 PM
"Damn, I'll probably have rank E luck if I pick this thing up, but oh well," Cory picks up a spear, "here, Shay-mad, stand near the barrels, I'll stick this spear past your shoulder so I don't accidentally stab you with it."
10-27-2018, 12:52 PM
"Uh, if you're sure about this." Cory swaps his axe for a spear and takes up position behind Samad to repel the next attack.
Rolling 1d5: 1
10-27-2018, 02:50 PM
Due to time constraints their positioning is somewhat awkward and Cory stabs through air. Unhindered, one of the monsters slams into a barrel sending it flying into the room.
Rolling 1d6: 3
10-27-2018, 03:17 PM
The barrel hits Cory, knocking him to the ground. His makeshift barricade is inches away from collapse, but Tomoe and Jose are now geared up and ready to go.
10-27-2018, 03:26 PM
Jose strikes a threatening pose and then runs chest first into the nearest monster, hoping to incapacitate it by striking it with the hard surface of his armor.
10-28-2018, 09:46 PM
Jamar takes a bunch of the almond sized stones and starts throwing them at the creatures.
10-28-2018, 11:57 PM
Cory gets up and threads his spear under Jose's armpit if Jose fails to knock down the monster
If Jose succeeds, Cory tries to thrust at the monster which is now floored.
10-29-2018, 12:01 AM
Jose's breastplate doesn't fit very comfortably, but it is securely strapped to his inadequate chest. He walks to the back end of the room, puts his hands on his hips, and runs full-tilt towards the doorway with his metal pectorals thrust before him. His momentum is arrested as he smacks into the rest of Cory's barricade, obliterating it and sending a barrel flying in the opposite direction.
Rolling 1d6: 3
10-29-2018, 12:14 AM
The barrel somehow flies past the ones in front and knocks over one of the monsters in the back. The three closest to you however are fine, and enter the room unhindered. Cory sticks his spear through the gap between Jose's arm and torso to prevent the foremost monster from attacking, while Jamar tries to throw a stone through the doorway they're blocking.
Rolling 1d5: 5 Rolling 1d8: 6
10-29-2018, 12:22 AM
Jamar's stone deals a glancing blow to the foremost creature, stalling it for a brief moment of which Cory takes full advantage. He runs the spear straight through the monster's chest and yanks it out just as fast. It falls backward onto its fellows, stalling them all a little more.
10-29-2018, 07:20 PM
Cory tries to keep stabbing them.
10-29-2018, 07:42 PM
Jose realizes that the armor might make a better hand-held bludgeoning tool, rather than a chest-strapped one.
He retreats behind Cory to unstrap his breastplate.
10-29-2018, 09:52 PM
Jamar continue throwing the rocks, shouting various phrases with each swing.
"Hyaaaaa!" "Take that!"
10-30-2018, 02:00 PM
Finally free of all obstructions, Cory starts thrusting his long thing willy-nilly into the monsters. Meanwhile Jamar makes weird cries to bolster the stone throwing.
Rolling 1d6: 6 Rolling 1d8: 8 Rolling 1d2: 1
10-30-2018, 02:02 PM
Jamar's stone nails a creature in the head while Cory downs another. Only one remains standing. Jose removes his breastplate.
11-02-2018, 12:23 AM
Cory taunts the monster.
"I'd rather eat shit than look at yo ugly face for a minute longer! Yo mama so fat light bends around her!"
11-02-2018, 01:08 PM
Jose charges forth, swinging his breastplate onto the remaining creature. If the creature is downed, he indexes it. Otherwise, he continues swinging the breastplate
11-02-2018, 04:48 PM
Before the creature can react to Cory's taunts Jose runs in and starts hitting it with the breastplate.
Rolling 1d3: 3
11-02-2018, 04:54 PM
The armor proves a surprisingly adequate weapon despite the awkward grip, caving in the creature's misshapen head and flooring it alongside the other corpses.
Samad peeks out of the room. "That's the last of them... for now, I think. I'm glad I brought you all with me, we got through that unscathed. Shall we proceed?" Jose starts indexing the monsters.
11-03-2018, 05:48 PM
Cory switches back to the axe, and heads back to the selection.
"Alright, lets see whats in store at the selection."
11-03-2018, 08:43 PM
Tomoe holsters the pistol, grabs an available spear and follows along.
11-05-2018, 02:30 PM
Figuring he will not be very useful should more monsters be encountered, Samad decides not to follow Cory. He joins Jose in examining the dead monsters, which leeches away some indexing XP. [just kidding]
Cory and Tomoe carefully step through all the corpses around the doorway and ascend the stairs. The second floor is dimly lit by the caved in hole in the ceiling. Scattered about are stone statues and pieces of rubble that likely broke off from either them or the ceiling. The statues are mostly humanoid in shape, although their exact details can't be made out in this lighting. Each statue is elevated by a foot-high pedestal, although some pedestals have nothing or only legs. There is also a long desk placed against the eastern wall.
11-05-2018, 04:58 PM
Grabbing a bunch of stones, Jamar also follows.
11-06-2018, 12:27 PM
Jamar reaches the top of the stairs, where Cory and Tomoe are standing slack-jawed, and sees the same thing they do.
11-06-2018, 06:57 PM
In case the statues can come alive, Cory smashes one leg off each statue that still has a leg. Afterwards he examines and indexes the pedestals.
11-07-2018, 12:53 PM
11-07-2018, 01:24 PM
He actually destroys the leg like a boss. Nothing else seems to happen.
Meanwhile, Jose finishes up indexing the bodies. Besides their warped heads their features are fairly close to human, with messy stitches dotting their stiffened skin. A few tattered rags hang off them. "It seems some kind of surgical procedure was performed on them," Samad says. "But how could they be alive after all this time?" He looks up, the echoes of stone being smashed reaching his ears. "Uh, is everything all right up there?" he calls. [I'll give it 24 hours if anyone else wants to do something or Cory changes his mind. Otherwise, the smashing shall resume]
11-07-2018, 11:35 PM
"I would say that instead of surgical procedures, a ritual was instead carried out. Back in our world there were cultures that would do similar things to corpses to prepare them for the afterlife. This could possibly be something similar, though in this case they made guardians for the living world instead of the afterlife." When Tomoe hears the smashing he gets her spear ready and makes sure his pistol is able to be quickdrawn.
11-08-2018, 12:44 PM
"Er, that's interesting to know, I guess?" Samad calls back to Tomoe who is still at the top of a spiral staircase and one floor above where Samad, Jose and the corpses are. "What's going on up there? Do you need help?"
Despite being in a position to clearly see Cory smashing statues, it is only when s/he(?) hears the sound that Tomoe prepares the pistol and spear. Rolling d8: 1 Rolling d4: 4 Rolling d20: 19 Cory has now broken the leg off 2 statues. [Auto-Smash in 3 hours]
11-08-2018, 07:30 PM
CORY SMASH!
Rolling 7d4: 4 + 3 + 2 + 2 + 4 + 3 + 3 = 21 Rolling 7d20: 13 + 4 + 14 + 3 + 5 + 6 + 8 = 53
11-08-2018, 08:30 PM
Cory proceeds with the laborious task of striking off a leg off of each statue, not encountering any issues. By the time he's finished Samad and Vincent have made their way up the stairs to gawk, crowding Jamar and Tomoe out of the doorway. "Uh, Jaysson, why did you do that? Those could be valuable historical artifacts you know." Samad chides.
In his examination Cory counts 9 "intact" statues, if you consider missing a leg to be intact. Each one has a unique appearance:
[Everyone can act on this information]
11-08-2018, 08:41 PM
"Oh, these could've been automaton statues so I didn't want to take that risk, you know how it goes," says Cory, "hmm the hand print is interesting, we should test it out by chopping off a hand from one of those dried corpses and putting it in the hand print."
11-08-2018, 08:58 PM
Samad frowns. "No, I actually don't know what you're talking about. I'd understand if there were more monsters, but please refrain from just smashing up the scenery. So much information could be lost..."
"In ancient rituals blood sacrifices are common theme so maybe..." She sets her phone to record and hands it to Samad. "Need you to do me a favor friend, keep this pointed at me. I'm going to see if this does anything. If I die you can have that to have fin with." Walking over to the statue of the woman with the scales, Tomoe cuts her hand with her spear tip just enough to draw blood "Progress always requires a test subject as they say." and places her hand on the indent of the hand on the side of the statue.
11-08-2018, 09:42 PM
"There are 4 empty pedestals... How many husks did we fight earlier?"
